One part is who would be who might buy it?

While Blacksnakes managing general partner Mark Schuster said the ball club is not actively for sale, he admitted earlier this season the future of the team in St. Joseph was in doubt. He acknowledged there have been a number of people over the past couple of years who have expressed an interest in it.
The latest, the News-Press has learned, is Dan Gerson, owner of the Independence, Mo., restaurant, The Big Biscuit.

City officials have confirmed that one meeting already taken place with the prospective buyer. Another is scheduled for this week.
St. Joseph mayor Ken Shearin said it is too early to discuss what the prospective buyer is seeking from the city. He did expressed confidence in his reputation, however.
"This man is a genuine baseball aficionado, a successful businessman who also worked with a brokerage firm before going into business," Shearin said. "He loves the game, and he loves St. Joe. He'll be somebody who would be spending a lot of time in St. Joe, driving in, rather than flying in and out."
"I think that he is probably seeking the same things we are seeking, which is some light at the end of the tunnel in terms of Phil Welch Stadium and making it a more family-oriented place to take your family to games," Schuster said.

A sale of the team would likely be completed by Oct. 4, which is when the American Association holds its next regular meeting. The franchise owners normally approve new ownership at that meeting. However, Schuster said the sale is not imminent.
