The Diablos managed to outdo themselves with a record attendence of 11,206.

El Paso Times story: Diablos put more fans in seats

This is big news because, as story (and fans there told me) they finally eclipsed their old MiLB record:
Quote:
Wednesday's record attendance beat the previous Diablos record of 11,147, set in 2003 when five-time Cy Young Award winner Randy Johnson pitched for the club during a rehab assignment.
There are a few signs of how they did it:
Quote:
"We've done some different marketing type things; we're focusing on group ticket sales (to) little league groups, church groups and corporations," said Diablos General Manager Matt LaBranche. "The icing on the cake is the team is really good this year. People love a winner and that's been worth 200, 300 fans a night."
And then there are other revenue streams:
Quote:
Those include signing a long-term deal to host the annual Southwestern International Livestock Show & Rodeo and bringing the Fiesta de las Flores to Cohen Stadium. Other events the club has hosted include concerts and car shows.
So there are precedents in the AA for hosting rodeos at the old ballpark (maybe BPD will note that).
