Observations on this from Cowtown: Nelson chose to invest in Cleburne(!) after looking over the Cats situation. That's how bad it is at LaGrave. Lane has tried to keep the dream alive for years but it is just personal love, not business sense. Every other person with any city entity knows they will never participate. Plenty of very wealthy private investors have sniffed around the situation over the past 5-6 years, and even though $5 million would just be a drop in the bucket for them, they see no way to maintain the product even to just break even. Not sure anyone would "swap land" to save LaGrave, either, have never heard that and doesn't make much business sense either. LaGrave is on hospice, might want to get by there for one last look before the plug is pulled.
