I stayed and (almost) enjoyed every minute of last night's epic tug-of-war! I wasn't crazy about the field umpire's missed call at third in the 11th or the seven men the 'Cats left on base in innings seven, eight, and nine, but, hey...give the Sox credit for their pitchers: Spradlin, Littleton, who is nasty, Povich, Johnson and Lare. By the way, let's not forget Gonzalez and his two innings, Uriegas for his excellent 2.1 innings, and Carter, the new guy! Also, let's credit Bartleski for his pitching. If he had pitched that way in Spring Training when he was trying out for the 'Cats, instead of tee-ball for the T-Bolts, he would have made the team. (By the way, if anyone could explain what hapened in the fifth, when an Amarillo run was taken away, that would be most cool.)
I'm glad they completed the game this morning instead of waiting until later. (I could only go up to inning 16 on my scorecard.)
What a game! I'm submitting it to ESPN Classics for broadcast this winter. You all are welcome to join me and watch!
