Let's assume the Fielders are a road team for most of the year and let's say they are in the middle of a "homestand." They are scheduled to play ... oh .... Rockford, just for the discussion. They play the home games at Rockford and wait for their next opponent, who'd be ... say, Winnipeg, which is currently playing at Joliet. After the Peg finishes that series, they hop on a bus, go back to Winnipeg, play the "road" series with the Fielders, and both teams get back on the bus. The Fielders go back now to ... say, Gary, for another "homestand" and Winnipeg, already on a road trip, heads back to Rockford. Nowhere in this mix is Schaumburg, which is on the road in Fargo and its ballpark is sitting empty. Gary, in KC, also has an empty park. Question: Who got the messy end of this pole?

Explainable, probably. One is a complete season of TBAs when the Fielders are to be the home team. I didn't attempt to look up all the schedules since the two or three that I went after are just announcements of the first couple of games. I am not sure just how they manage their Fielders Website so not much news there we can interpret.

If you take off your Fielder blinders, you'll see that the TBA are for alot of away games. I see them for KC, Schuamburg and the All-Star game. I'm sure in the coming days the TBA's will be filled in.

"in coming days." TBA suggests (or strongly hints) that they don't ... duh ... have a ballpark and ... duh ... don't seem to know ... duh ... if they are going to have one. But and I put this rather ... duh ... mildly ... YOU are buying into the notion that the Fielders will be playing at green and lush Landfill State Bank in Zion in JUNE. That would be J-U-N-E. The schedule suggests (I think, duh) that even the teams aren't buying into that lie. Otherwise, they'd be putting ... duh ... in there, that the game is going to be AT Zion. Instead, they don't really think that is going ... duh ... to happen ... TBA. Road warriors.

But So TBA suggest there is no ball park ready, so does that also mean that Alexian and CAB are being torn down and rebuilt too.. or is it possible that the game times have not been assigned as of today? DUH!!! If I remember correctly, the schedules released at this time last year were not complete with start times and the the start times changed several time through out the winter. So settle down Francis! I have not idea why you hate the fielders so much, but time to get over it. If there is a new stadium or not, this team is on the schedule, have a manager and started the process to putting a team together, so does it really matter to anyone but you if they play at home in the new stadium or not. At this point I'm happy that we have two more teams in the league and we don't have to play any one team over and over again the like we saw in the last two seasons.

I have no grudge against the team. I have a grudge against people who can't be forthright. They have said they were going to build a ballpark. Fine. I asked them how they intend to finance it, a fair question. If and when somebody can answer that, I will drop the subject. Hey, I live in Indiana. It ain't my state taxes paying for this. If you don't care about answering the fundamental question: WHO IS PAYING FOR THE BALLPARK, how can you assert to question my motives? I made my agenda clear and that's consistent on this board. I have nothing against the team other than it doesn't seem to be able or willing to be up front about things. That, I fear, is what drives sheep around. Then, again ... I didn't invent Commander Cody.

Having been in web development for well over a decade I can tell you that few web design firms take these details as seriously as we do. Right now so much is still TBD in the schedules since they only just came out that it's a little premature to read too much into anything --especially any preliminary work put on a team's website right now. What you may be seeing is simply early database entry setup by the web developers to prepare for the 2010 season. They may have been given earlier, incomplete schedules that didn't have some issues/locations addressed. It's almost certain that the league had multiple versions of the schedule prepared for a (full/partial-season) road team situation. It's entirely possible that such a version was passed along and may have made a premature entry. The "real" schedule will eventually appear on the league site (in some form) and clubs will likely put out "full schedule" press releases listing all home and away games. When those come out any lingering issues will be clear. Besides, until Fielders current reported construction dates pass with little/no progress, they deserve some benefit of the doubt --and that's in spite of the fact I tend to agree with John that they still have to prove that they can deliver on their target dates since we've already blown through quite a few.

Where is the financing coming from for the ballpark? Once I get that info, my other interest will be either obvious or not ... we can watch them build the ballpark. I just want to know who is paying for it. Honest question. I ask, nobody answers. I find that very odd.

Posts: 75 (30-Oct-09 12:15:03) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Hi John I would like to give you an explination in regards to the original post if I read correctly you are wondering why the Fielders wouldn't play in one of the stadiums while the other team is on a road trip......if I did read that correctly then the answer is simple No team would want to clear completly out of their own clubhouse and have another team use it.....to clear out a clubhouse completly would be a major league task especially in lets say SCF because of storage space being very limited....if I am off base with what your original post was about...then I apoligize!!! plus not having a full time clubbie availible how would all the uni's be washed, food delivered, etc....I wouldn't stay behind to help "the enemy" I am also sure Twin, and the other clubbie's would feel the same...but don't quote me cause I definatly don't speak for them!!

It answers a question I didn't ask and enlightens me at least. But somebody on one of these posts hinted that Alexian might be a "home" field for the Zion team.

It's all the same management, so it would be much less problematic in a lot of ways than most other scenarios. When the final schedules come out, if the Flyers and Fielders are always home/road, or road/home, I think we'll have our answer, even if they're not ready to admit to it yet. Maybe the Fielders could even turn a profit on the deal-a most unusual situation for a "road" team, I would think.
