I think you also have it correct. It confirms the murky future of the everything in the area. The Water District (as has been discussed for a couple years) should (probably) buy the land (and ballpark) and should have the means to do it to address the conditions along the Trinity. Whether that will be any more likely now than before seems equally unclear.
What really matters is how the Cats will function in the interim. 2010 planning isn't critical now, but it'll need to move forward fairly soon (starting with letters to season ticket holders covering the many questions that are swirling around the club and ballpark).
