My point exactly: they have the best record in the NoL in that time, but the playoffs tend to conspire to keep snatching the championship from them. It's one of the few things I like about playoffs. Gary is a good team, but someone else keeps ending up with the laurels. Don't blame me for addressing something we all know. And I could have been much less polite in my statement.

The pre-playoff talk in the League-wide forum generally dismissed Fargo from serious consideration (I admit I did as well), with some figuring Gary a mortal lock on the title. As a constant rooter for the underdog, I had to root for Kansas City first, and Fargo second. I'm happy with the result.

Whoa! See what happens when I take time off. You can't be serious???? Fargo wasn't inferior to anyone. I thought Fargo was dogged-tired at the end of the regular season, but their manager addressed that issue masterfully. Fargo was the best 2009 Northern League team. KCK was the best team in 2008. The best teams are able to finish and seal the deal. Why continue your old sour grapes/regular season record agenda??? Why try to take anything away from each year's Northern League champion?

...with that said. I don't think Gary can seal the deal with some of the veterans they have hanging around the clubhouse. Gary needs to shop at the same place Doug shops (but hopefully it won't cost Gary a roster spot).
