Morning BarkeepNd...... Great game result for you guys ... I felt so bad for pitcher... and a good price to watch it and no league surcharge.... Is Fargo paying into the playoff fund out of there own pocket
Thanks for all your thoughts on ticket prices. I continue to feel Winnipeg charges to much in compaison to what the other parks in the league charge
Its always been a great concern of mine. The whole thing about how much is too much for this level of baseball. I still question the high ticket prices on top of increased ways to nickle and dime us to death.
It is starting to put the cost up to the point where many are starting to question what is too much. I think that is why The Free Press had the large article on how crowds are starting to fall.
I know its not just the weather. If I read the article properly I recall it said season ticket sales fell 5% this season. The article was what made me decide to mention it here.I have been considering the last few years whether to end buying a season ticket, it is my enjoyment of the game that keeps me paying, but I have reached my limit as to what is too much
It is a great deal for Redhawk fans, and honestly i think it comes from Simmy knowing the value of a good home crowd. The 'hawks are still taking a dollar from every ticket and putting it to the player fund.. but they'd rather have some people there and are willing to take a financial hit for those nights in order to have a few more butts in the seats. As mentioned earlier in the thread the stadium is only partially staffed (but with the lower attendance there is no lack of service.. if anything it's better). Some of the vendors don't open. and it's certainly worth the price.
it comes down to value, and how much it's worth it to you to be there. If it's not worth the money, simply don't go. The good thing as a goldeye fan with the internet you should be able to watch the game on IBN.
i don't think anyone would argue that goldeye fans pay significantly more then other indy baseball fans for the privelege to drink $6 beer while watching baseball. but there are enough fans willing to put out the cash that they can do so.. and it helps to make the goldeyes an attractive team to play for.
