From the "hard to believe" file it appears that the ULB is going to build a new ballpark in Dallas according to the story from BPD.
Without comment (or other story reference) Kevin & Co. just state the facts and don't mention that this is the same league that barely avoided complete dissolution. Nor do they mention that this would be the third indy club in DFW with the downtown location well less than 10(?) miles of QT and the AirHogs (and not all that much further from the Rangers and Cats).
About all they pass along is that the ballpark would be part of a Trinity River development project in Dallas (and downstream from La Grave and the Ft. Worth Trinity River development around it). There's that and the idea the ballpark could be ready for play in 2010:
If the land for development is purchased out of foreclosure soon, the new ballpark could be open in 2010.On top of all of this is the question who'd be paired with this club? Would Alexandria come back? Will the clubs shuttered this season round it out to four? Are they certain the ULB, under new (more like old) management will survive the summer? Will the Rangers try fighting a third ballclub fighting for the hard earned dollars of families looking for a fun summer activity?
Color me skeptical. Perhaps those closer to the action (like HorseRaider who might be able to walk to that ballpark too or JPD) can share more info.

Having my sweet tea!
