The contracts of both Kris Regas and Beau Torbert have been sold to the Detroit
Tigers organization.

Alittle Canary Bird told me The manager wasn"t being signed back for next year, WOW any body KNOW anything?

I'm pretty sure you should have started a new topic for that one.
Not to mention some kind of source... |

You mean "a little Canary Bird" is not a source? Since when?

Yeah, I'm sure the Sioux Falls paper quotes "a little Canary bird" all the time...
You know, a much bigger bird told me that Pat Mahomes was retiring and selling all his possessions to become a monk living in poverty.
Look, I know message boards are prime breeding grounds for unsubstantiated rumors, but that doesn't mean I can't call them out when they appear. I could claim all sorts of anonymous, "inside" sources that tell me all sorts of fun stuff (see my sarcasm above), but you can take such stuff seriously at your own risk. If your only source is "a little Canary bird," well sorry, I'm not buying it. And if you wanted to start a discussion on the SF manager, it should have been a new thread, not a complete left turn in the Regas/Torbert topic. Just sayin'.

Have'nt heard anything here about Shirley's status, but with his health issues it would not supprise me that he would not be back. I'm sure the
Canary Nation
would be happy with Benny Castillo at the helm!

Managers do move up in this league, just like players sometimes. Or for the wrong reasons. Fort Worth's manager won a championship year before last but
for reasons yet clear to me was fired after the season and their present manager brought in. I haven't heard anything about the SC manager leaving.
Sean, FW lost their closer to the A's and other teams lose players too in the off season. Hopefully that core group for SC will be back..in the games I saw them play in GP and FW they were very impressive. I expect the level of league play to be higher and more competitive in the upcoming season.

Thats what I hear. Be like in my parts if I went on an Oklahoma Sooners fan board and claimed something great they did was done by the Texas Longhorns
BTW I am hoping to get a trip to the Birdcage worked in with my annual Midwest trip this coming summer. Don't hold what I said against me..lol |

Steve looked pretty healthy hoisting that big trophy. My personal opinion (no source, of course :-) is that he'll be back. I mean, look what he's
done with them so far....who wouldn't want him back?!?!

And now both Kris Regas and Beau Torbert have been released by the Tigers organization and have been signed to 2009 Canaries' contracts.
To bad for both of them that the Tigers didn't even keep 'em in AA or AAA, but it's sure going to help us this season. |
