I just came across this on the AA website. Awesome news! I've been partial to the Canaries ever since I took in a ballgame there a few years back. Congratulations Sioux Falls! |

Sioux Falls Championship | ||

In the long run, isn't it going to be great that Sioux Falls and Sioux City , have now become serious baseball teams in the league and more important in
the North, the powers up here have always been the same Saint Paul & Lincoln. I guess for awhile each of them would win 60+ games and go to the playoffs.
Has that changed now, are the Siouxs for real? I sure hope so. At the very least thoughs 2 Orgs. should wrap up the Managers long term. Lancaster and Shirley
are now proven winners, Lancaster has quite a long back ground of winning. There could be some ups and downs, but with them in there the Siouxs should have a
chance to do things every year.

aawatcher wrote: although St Paul and Lincoln have both had some pretty impressive playoff streaks (that happened to both be extinguished this year with the impressive performances of the Siouxs) the 60 win mark was hardly a routine accomplishment. They each have done it one time in their franchises existance (st paul in 2004 in the NoL and Lincoln in 2006 in the AA's first season). I wholeheartedly agree that both managers should be rewarded for this years success, and hopefully the two organizations continue to put winning teams on the field. The AA north looks to be highly competitive in the near future, which will only make that 60 win mark more elusive. |
