Color me confused:
Since when is just under 4,000 fans per game not enough to be sucessful? What is Carl Bell thinking? We all know from top to bottom we have some very greedy people in charge of these leagues but this one IMHO takes the cake. And in a later quote Bell said he expects numbers to go up!"To ensure the permanency of the Cats in downtown Fort Worth, there needs to be some form of public financing, or a public/private partnership, in order to make it viable for the Fort Worth Cats to operate," Bell said.
Cats officials say the ballpark and the team, which has had three consecutive championship seasons, are also popular with local fans. Average attendance has been about 4,100 at the 48 home games each season, and this year the team expects that figure to hit 4,500, Bell said.
Apparently the land is worth more not having the team then it is owning the team... So Carl Bell another greedy owner is going to the press. It just makes you cringe...
