Didn't get a chance to make it to Tuesday's game and was wondering what the crowd reaction was to Josh Patton playing his first game back in Haymarket
in a different uniform. Looks like he had a good night 2-4 with a home run. Hope to be there on Wednesday to catch the game and wish Josh a happy birthday.
This is a big series for the 'Dogs to get ahead of SF in the standings. They can then keep climbing the standings ladder with a good series against 2nd
place Witchita this weekend at home.

I had to work, but I listened to the game on the radio and from the sounds of it Patton was welcomed back warmly with cheers and applause....and even more
applause when he hit the homer.
Which really got the radio guys
upset. What're ya' going to do though? The guy was a fan
favorite for years...I'm guessing Pichi will get the same welcome when he comes back.

Wow, quite a homecoming. Two HR's in two games.
Makes me worry what will happen when Pichi comes to town. He was hitting at a good clip before he got hurt anyway (.688) Which leads me to ask: 1- Why do you get rid of guys like Josh and Pichi? Obviously they can still play at a very high level. and 2- If you are determined to get rid of them, why do you let them go to teams that are in your league and worse yet, your division? At least we sent Yako to 'Jersey. and 3- If you let them go to a rival team, why don't you at least deplete that team's roster a little in exchange? Couldn't we have gotten Marcel Longmire in exchange for Pichi? After all, Longmire is playing pretty well and we've already released Felix Jose. Just curious about this as so far, my fears have been somewhat justified. |

First it'll be over a month before Pichi can play anywhere.
Second, I assume you're talking to Tim Johnson, I don't think you'll find anyone --especially Saltdogs fans-- who wanted to lose so many good and popular players. |

That's what I thought. No one here (or Lincoln) would have let so much talent leave.

It is not as simple as we just don't want you back. I am sure that all three players wanted to get paid more than the Saltdogs thought they are worth.
And second how many championships have the Saltdogs won in the time that these players have been here, at some point you have to make a change if you don't
think it is going to lead to a championship.
Everyone knows these 3 are great players, but you have to do what is best for your team to WIN, and the Dogs are riding a 6 game winning streak right now, so it must not have been such a bad move so far. |
