This guy pretty much explains Indy ball to a T. I think he's blogging mainly to get the Wichita people familiar with Indy ball and what level of play they can expect..

I can relate to having to explain to people I work with or associate with, that Independent baseball teams are not "a bunch of semi pros" or " just a step above high school ball" or "a bunch of amateur scrubs", and other things I hear all the time. I tell them that these guys are good ex minor leaguers that are getting another chance. When tell them that the level of ball is as good as any high A/AA ball I've seen over my lifetime, (and I've seen a few hundred minor league games in my life, and they know it), and start naming guys that have made it to the majors from Indy ball, then they sort of perk up and get this "oh, really?" look on their faces and say they're going to check out the Cats or AirHogs sometime.

Sometimes it's just a matter of getting people past their preconcieved notions.
