Well, it's clear that the big move just happened --right in the middle of the championships. (oh well).
I hope you take some time to check out the numerous features now available to EVERYONE with an account.
Forums
One that has been requested is an "block" and "ignore post" options for other members. Yes. Now you no longer have to read or get private messages from those you dislike in the forums. For some that may include me, but do that at your own peril if you're in a flame war or otherwise pushing the envelope.
Speaking of making things disappear... Another is you can now collapse main categories to reduce scrolling. For example NoL fans can collapse the entire AA category if they want by clicking the (-) in the upper right corner.
If you're looking for things try the search. Unlike the old (anemic and pathetic) search in ezboard. The search here in Yuku is really nice. Type in a term into the search box like "Katz," "Young" or "Simi" and get a list of posts with them listed (in bold).
Tagging. You can now tag topics to help find them more easily. Think of them as keywords that help you when searching.
RSS feeds. You can now access RSS feeds for any forum or all of them. Use your favorite RSS reader/aggregator to select and add them. An example would be to "subscribe" to your favorite team's forum, league and maybe the general (baseball) topic. If you haven't heard about RSS feeds, do a quick Google and find out more.
Spellcheck For those who want to spell things correctly the (full) edit mode has a spellcheck option. Click it and it will highlight in yellow the words it thinks are incorrect. Of course it won't correct grammatically errors like misusing their/there/they're, etc.
Formating. The full editor now has WYSIWYG editing options similar to word processors where you can select text and get the formatting you want (bold, italic, underline, etc. etc.). I has has the standard keyboard shortcuts for bold (CTRL-b), italic (CTRL-i) that work even in the "quick reply" mode.
Profiles
Beyond the forums, there are all the features connected to your profile. It's a mini mySpace in yuku.
Upload own graphics into your profile and set your own avatars (the graphics associated with your posts). Upload entire galleries of photos to share. Eveyone has their own blog area. Create multiple user accounts either to confuse the people here or simply to reflect your interests in other yuku forums (an nlfan user here, a different one in a music forum). There are complete sets of "skins" so you can personalize your profile using one of the dozens of styles or create your own.
There are also numerous social networking options where you can give kudos to others who post things you like.
I'm sure you'll find a LOT of other stuff. If it's likely to be interesting to others, please post it in this topic area (About this Website and forums).
