Posts: 250 Nov 15 11 1:58 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm curious, too. We did get our renewal form last week, and it quite explicitly said that they plan on being in the AA next season. And I had a voice-mail about renewals just this morning. So I don't think this press conference is going to be anything like that. What are the odds they're actually going to do a mea culpa and become the Canaries again? It'd be nice, but I'm not going to hold my breath. By the way, the renewal letter did mention 2012 being the 20th year of pro baseball in Sioux Falls and that they will be doing something special for that, so they are going to have to at least acknowledge the Canaries next season.

Gary Weckwerth, chief executive officer of the Fighting Pheasants, announced today that the Sioux Falls baseball team has signed a new three-year agreement with American Association. "We're here to stay," he said in a news conference.

The Northwoods league is not an option there is no other professional option there. "We never talked to the Northwoods League ever." He never considered selling the team or folding the team. The team signed another 3-year deal with the AA. Loses were kept at a minimum last year. When asked how do you get more people into the stands he said, "It's a secret. We have to do a better job at what we do." Yikes! The ownership and front office will remain the same. Nothing will change if things remain the same. This guy just doesn't get it. He said that a winning team should pack the stands. That is NOT indy ball. One thing he did not do was rip the fans!! That was nice. He did say they need more concerts and other events at the stadium to help the team make money.
