Bonhomme, you wouldn't by chance be Michael LaPlante now would you?????
I think it's rather odd that someone from Quebec would come on the St. Paul forum (as of course we are not even in the same league!) and try to tour
your opinion on Michael LaPlante!
Au Revoir Michael

I apologize for the spelling of Michel's name.
You said Michel has had four players signed since 2005, that means he's averaging 1 a year and brings back the same players year after year that makes them
lifetime Indy players (as you said he makes few roster changes) and either they are not good enough to get on with an organization or that Michel is not doing
a good enough job promoting them. As you said most of the players are local and that brings up an interesting perspective. Perhaps the Quebec team is selling a
different level of entertainment then the Saints. Perhaps the Quebec team is selling local entertainment to local people. I think you actually nailed it on
the head when you wrote "Of the 22 players listed on the team roster at this date (2010-01-01) 10 were born in the province of Quebec. It's a
different perspective: give the locals a chance to play pro baseball or go back to affiliated ball" You make it sound like these players have chosen
to stay in Indy ball instead of being in an organization, like they wouldn't want to be in an organization. I as a fan and season ticket holder, would not
want to sit in the stands and watch the same mediocre players year after year that have no chance of ever going anywhere..-which is why it would just be easier
and cheaper to go watch the local pub team play. I and my group thoroughly enjoyed watching Tanner Scheppers this year and before that I was there when JD Drew
was there and the other players that have come through the system. I took father down to see Kevin Millar in Spring Training with the Red Sox and he remembered
us from St. Paul, and the fact that he joined us in a few tailgate beers after the game.
Tsamis has had 31 players signed. that means Tsamis has had an average of more than 4 players a year signed. Which as I said before is a big determining factor
for these players to come here. We don't have the fancy stadium (yet) and have seats that are as uncomfortable as anything I have ever sat it, but the
Saints have always had great quality players and always attract attention from organizations which is why the top players come here. This is the difference
between the Saint Paul Saints, FW Cats and some other teams that are trying to get their players into organizations. I don't think us fans in St. Paul (me
in particular) would be happy to see the same players year after year. If you all in Quebec are happy with local ball then good for you, but here in St. Paul
we want to see the next Kevin Millar's or Tanner Scheppers. To sum it up here Bonhomme, the fact that Michel has the same players year after year and
little roster movement is not a good thing for his career or the players that come there.

Do you guys ever think about what the goals are for indy managers???...They want to move up the ranks as much as anyone...most players who get signed do so
after the season...Playing for a winning team and putting up great numbers are usually what get indy players signed...if a manager wants to move up the ranks
there is only one way, win ball games and championships. Managers do take pride in getting their guys signed, but most of the time it has much more to do with
the player putting up numbers and the orginization he is playing for. Signing local players is sometimes out of necessity and sometimes simply because fans
like to see local guys playing for their team. These are just my thoughts on the topic.

Not sure what the point about getting games televised in a "hockey town" was.
