Lancaster was a excellent selection for the Explorers. They need a winner badly, I wish they would have kept Shirley around for at least another year to see if he could put back to back winning seasons together in a city that has not seen winning baseball ever. It is not easy to put together a winning team but it is feasable if you put time into putting in phone calls, checking the waiver wire and not taking 4 months off after a season and try to put together a team the last month of the off-season (Nottle).

And I have seen on this forum to much "at least they have new management" NO THEY DON'T they have a GM that was apart of the downfall of the 2000-Present regime (he just was not the GM during the early years, he also ruined a team in Corpus before he bolted back to Sioux City). He is a prodage of the Stavernos regime (any questions??). They have a staff of 3, I don't know anyone that thinks that is a good idea.

I have some good advise for Sioux City:
-Get a manager that has a winning reputation (check that one off the list, good job Explorers)
-Get a GM that actually is respected and not fallen into GM positions and one that can turn a franchise around (mostly by selling something to get some revenue)
-A total re-haul of the organization is the only thing that will save a franchise that has been a vital part of Independent Baseball since the inception. That means from the owner to the interns!
