And this is the guy that the owners got to replace Hal , are you kidding me. Don't know anything about physical threats to players but its to bad that this
has to happen in baseball. What can a manager do if a player doesn't want to come back? If I was a manager the players that didn't want to come back I
wouldn't want them on my team anyways, so trade them or release them and turn the page and go on. Good luck to Chris Brown with Sussex but bet he is happy
about playing for his only manager that knows what he can do and who wants him. Who else wants to live the Hammers Mike? The only players that could have
gotten THREATS would be Juan, Matt, Cory, Aaron or Brian thats the only one left from last years team I believe after looking over the roster. So what is he
going to do to all these good players? I still say the Hammers will make the playoffs this year with only a six team league. KC is still bringing back to many
players from last year team so I wouldn't count them as a contender to make the play offs, and Sch no way with what they have, so Gary, Winnipeg, Fargo and
Joliet are in. I will say this Wally is putting together on paper a good team, give him credit for that. Season will be interesting and I am sure more changes
will be made with some of the players mention above. Hang end there Mike. Have heard rumors that Sonia Little is leaving, is that true. She will really be
missed she ran things around the ball park and inside that office. Why haven't the Hammers acknowledge her on there website? Didn't she work there for
a long time?

scout....
your the second person in two days that has told me sonia is or has left....I'll have to check it out and see what's the deal...I know she just bought a new house last year in this area... on the players your right....he's let everyone else go so whats the big deal at this point.....wallys won everywhere he's gone but there are reasons why he's still in indy ball...and that has become very evident already before the first pitch..... take care...mike |

sports scout wrote:So if KC and Schumburg are out and the season hasn't even started. WOW, why just going right into the playoffs and forget the season? It could be a long season for the fans of Joilet if Wally is threating the players already. We know what it's like to see a team play when they don't care. Gary has lost several main players this offseason, most of them were the reason they won last year, so it could be a long season too at the steel yard. Schaumburg is starting fresh again so there is a lot of questions there. KC has lost serveral players but has brought back the core, they were a couple games out of the playoffs, can Andy fill in the missing pictures this spring? Winnipeg and Fargo has also done some roster changes and have had players leave, so an they pull it together? Throw in the a few unknowns, who get injured, who get traded, who gets signed and who get picked up by a MLB team, can change a team's future, so let's play the season and see what happens before we write off any team. We're still 70 days ways from opening days, and I can't wait to see what the season brings! |

Wally hasn't even made it to town yet and you guys want to throw him under the bus already. Let's at least give him a semi fair shake before we trash
him. I will say for being such a "jerk" Wally sure did have a lot of players who played with him last year or in the same league that wanted to play
for him again. Hmmm....this says something to me. Might want to look at some of the those other teams in the Chi town area that are rebuilding their rosters
this year. Why didn't the players want to come back to those teams?????? Just a thought.

summerblues......
wally's been in town...along time already....... and he's made his own bed so far...so to say.... he's lied to the faces of season ticket holders..... he's lied to players faces from last years team..... he's has threatened players physically from last years team..... add just those and his checkered past and what do ya get? as for players following him...... please list em for me that he's brought over from his last team...... and the one "star" that he's brought over was suspended from the league for failing the drug test twice when they found "masking agents" in his system...... most people know when you manage by intimidation its only a short term fix....... like they say a tigers stripes don't change...... mike |

Last I checked Wally is still in Oregon. You have some good points. Just saying let him make it to town and field his team before we ostracize him. I'm not
saying I disagree with you. The past is checkered. What do you want a "Mr. Rogers Manager" or a winner? Many managers and players in indy ball have a
checkered past. Just like many of us. Just saying give him a chance. He has won wherever he has gone. Look at the roster. Unless I'm mistaken there are
more than a few names there that have played under Wally. As far as drug use goes....If you haven't checked there is no anabolic steroid testing in indy
ball. If you think there aren't current users in the Northern League then your kidding yourself. Probably much closer to home than you think. That's
another issue for another day.

Once again not disagreeing with you but it sounds like you are stating rumors as facts? Sometimes players get the short end of the stick. It's the
nature of the game. If guys don't handle it they wont play long. I still don't see where the lies are happening. If they are facts. Please, please do
tell or are we just whispering behind closed doors?

the statements are facts......what wally has said was
as for a players past...you do some d & d and find the facts
handling pitchers.....well there are some sitting in the stands while not pro's do have a few years of playing or coaching
and getting the "short" end of the stick and being decieved are two
different things......I would say its a gound judge of character on how a mgr handles his situations.....you can be a professional about how you
