An old fan favorite and somewhat successful manager is back in Sioux Falls: Benny Castillo
He'll be the Canaries hitting coach.
Besides playing for the Canaries and Saints he also led the Dukes to the 2000 NoL Championships and was the last manager to get the Xs into the post season.
What's most interesting is that Benny has been living in SF since 1996 (when the "card" below came out). In the release he notes that this job will be good for him and his family:
Before we anyone gets into another (pointless) "nobody cares" I'll say I'm happy to see he's back since I've always liked Benny. He's always been a very friendly and approachable player and manager. That he won't be the Canaries manager should also prevent some of the criticisms of his time as manager. The result may be a great deal for everyone.

"After talking with Steve Shirley and Canaries General Manager Matt Hansen, I knew that this was the right job for me," said Castillo. "Not only will I get to work with a great organization, but this job will also allow me to spend more time at home with my family."
