Maybe his career will start again. *Quote:* The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball announced today that Sioux Falls Canaries RHP Pat Mahomes has been sold to the Toronto Blue Jays. Mahomes will be sent to the Blue Jays Triple A affiliate, Syracuse of the International League.

I really hope to watch him on TV, in the big leagues again. WOW, the Canaries were the real thing this year, they should lock the manager up for a long time, 53 wins, WOW, I wouldn't get all up about 1 season, BUT, this is Sioux Falls, basement dweller of the league, 53 wins, who could of guessed it, not me. Sign this guy for 20 yrs, and do it now, nobody else could have pull a winning season out of that mess, and he got 53 wins.

How else could he break the club record with 12 wins? I agree that Shirley put together a great club and should be re-signed.

I hope all is well with that family member and he comes back to put another great team together to watch. The games I went to and I listened to were all close and hard fought games, I really enjoyed this years team

I had heard Shirley left early in the season one year when he was with Sioux City too. I thought(?) the Canaries signed him to a two year contract.

Come on, we've made the playoffs but once in fifteen seasons. The 2007 Canaries, though, were fun to watch; and the games were just super to go to. GM Kuhn is responsible for a lot of Sioux Falls' return to respectabilty. But, Steve certainly was the "trigger puller" with regards to player/personnel(line-up) moves. Bring Steve back next season, get Abner healthy, keep Pat Mahomes for the whole year (probably not), and we're in the playoffs! As an aside--American Association Baseball--A solid "double A" minor league quality? It seems to me that the overall play in the league is better now than just a few years ago (we were in the Northern League then).
