What I meant was how are the plans for the CoL coming?

And, here are the markets I had in mind for the NA:

Coeur d'Alene, ID
Redding, CA
Bend, OR
Surrey, BC
Kelowna, BC
Salinas, CA
San Marcos, CA
Silver City, NM
Mesa, AZ
Cedar City, UT

Also, a quick random fact: Out of all the defunct indy leagues, only one lasted more than three years: the Western Baseball League. All others wound up going from one week to two years.

Also, how is Eddie's Colonial League coming? I'm planning one called the National Association. Like the GBL: based in the Western U.S. and Western/Central Canada.

Gotta love the free publicity.

The one thing the AA has going for it after the split is strong teams. But you do have to wonder about all the rumors like the Chicago teams to the FL and all that....

A league does not have the right to "cancel out" a team unless they hold ownership. The CanAm does not have central ownership like the Golden League so the league...

Err, are you trying to imply that leagues actually choose to keep travel teams around and cut other franchises instead? I'm really struggling to make sense of that...

True, I agree that travel teams are not really a good thing, but given the circumstance if they try to rush franchises into existence with too little time, they are likely to be worse off than a travel team. I really just think that if something does not happen soon (like now), they need to wait until 2009.

The Atlantic League got rid of theirs, and now they are booming in season ticket purchases.

The Can-Am League got rid of theirs, then brought it back again, and cancelled out one of their most successful teams. This is why there is no canamfan.com. North Shore and New Haven County were cut because of Can-Am's stupidity.

It just seems like it would be too much of a rush at this point. That was one of the problems the Vipers and Cats had to deal with when they first started out. Yes, you can survive, but the rush makes it nearly impossible. There is little time to market. IMHO they would be better off waiting a year. At best I could see a road team that plays at various possible future canadian markets. It would give the Edmonton teams somebody to play close by. I saw on article (I forget where, I'd give the link if I remembered) on the GBL's 2009 expansion plans, and it said that they are trying for at least 4 more Canada teams (I say Kelowna, Saskatoon, Regina, and Kamloops), and at least 2-4 U.S. teams (they said one by the Bay Area, one in either San Bernardino or Riverside Counties [both are in SoCal], one in Oregon, and one in Washington). Pretty big hopes:
