Just an observaton on the Redhawks website. I noticed that Jeff Bittiger is no longer listed as one of the pitching coaches. I don't know if this means anything as far as his status with the team. Has anyone heard anything about his status with the Redhawks?

Looks like Mike Just signed with the Newark Bears and will not be coming back after all. Still no offical word about Richard Austin yet.

Sounds like Richard will be playing in the Italian League the Season. He will be missed and tough to replace. Good Luck Richard. Joe Mathis should be signing soon. Word also has it that we should be getting Dane Renkart resigned as well.

The Redhawks resigned Ruben Salazar. I am just curious as to if he will be the DH this year or if he will be playing 3rd. Just glad to see that he is back. He is a solid professional hitter.

I ask this because I'm watching an ECHL game from Alaska on the NHL Network and the play by play guy is Jack Michaels. Is it the one and same? Sorry Bill for trying to get hockey info on your boards but....... has anyone heard anything about the future of the Jets? Will they stay, fold or relocate for next year?

Meadows will be missed he was released by the Hawks today. Even after his rough start last season he became a fan favorite. Good Luck Tydus. Who knows maybe he will be back. If so it would'nt be the first time he was released and asked to come back. The Redhawks also signed Jeff Eure a infield veteran.

Nice to see that Dan Maycock will be back. I think this guy has a great shot to become Rookie of the Year. I am pretty sure that he did not play enough last season to lose his eligibility. Adam Rowe was also a big asset to the Hawks bullpen and came through in several tight spots last season getting some of the starters out of jams and I think could very easily start if he was needed there as well.

I was out on Saturday night and ran into a player and he told me Steve Montgomery hasn't signed a contract for next year. What are we doing not offering him a contract. Simi and him seem to get along and Simi signed a 4 year contract. In my opinion I think he is the best pitching coach in league and I also think we have the best coaches period. Can anyone fill me in on what they know. Thanks.

Mike Just was named Rookie of the year (winnipeg's Brandon Kintzler named rookie pitcher of the year) Nate Cotton gets Reliever of the Year, and Broadway Joe Mathis is Defensive player of the year. Added to Newman's being named best playing field that gives the Redhawks a very nice representation in the post season awards.

Boy these two teams are just going to be sick of each other after this series. Potentially 10 straight games against each other, 13 out of 18 and 16 out of 33 games. So potentially half of both teams schedules have been between the two. Ouch.
