Now that Northern league has 8 teams and has mentioned that they intend to have 10 teams in the future. What two cities would become 9 and 10?

The league site has the new 2010 league schedule for all teams. And a quick check shows that all teams have added them to their websites as well (in one form or another).

OK, let's see if I make any sense with this.
Let's assume the Fielders are a road team for most of the year and let's say they are in the middle of a "homestand."

They are scheduled to play ... oh .... Rockford, just for the discussion. They play the home games at Rockford and wait for their next opponent, who'd be ... say, Winnipeg, which is currently playing at Joliet. After the Peg finishes that series, they hop on a bus, go back to Winnipeg, play...

If the RailCats keep anybody, my hope is that they keep Esquer and Wallace, the catchers.

Use for Magnetic Schedules

Now that the season is over, many of us have the magnetic schedules and are contemplating what to do with them (if you're not a collector). Well, don't pitch them into the garbage, use them as the backing for anything you need. I have taken post-it notes, glued the back to the front of the schedule and "instant reminder sheets" for the fridge. You can also glue pictures onto them and place them anywhere that's metal. A couple of teams have a chance to set new league records going into the last week of the season. With 588 runs so far Fargo needs 32 in their final 6 games to surpass Calgary's record of 619 runs in a season. And Winnipeg needs 9 home runs in their final 6 games to surpass their own league record of 123 home runs in a season. Both are very do-able.

Not sure if you guys saw what happened down south. Last night there was some bean ball going on, started by Fargo. First West had to dodge one pitch, then the next one hit him in the helmet (I think it glanced off his shoulder first). Next inning, Ace Walker threw behind the Fargo batter, believe it was Nic Jackson. The benches were warned and of course Simunic comes flying out of the dugout, inciting both dugouts to empty. League MVP'S

With 3 weeks left in the season I was wondering people's thoughts on MVP and pitcher of the year. No one has really stood out this year in my mind for MVP but if I had a choice I'd pick Nic Jackson. He's 2nd in average and leads the league in rbi's, doubles and hits. Picher of the year is a slam dunk with Ace Walker leading the league with a 9-3 record, 2.84 era and 4 complete games.

If I was a member of the Northern League, I'd be wonder what my commish in charge of expansion is doing trying to help hockey teams in July when he should be scoping out potential 8th teams for next year.
