Our Sports Central had an article on this weekend's promotions. I'm a little confused on something.

On Saturday, May 24 it's "A Moment of Noise" - A Tribute to Marcel Marceau. During the night, each seat will have a soundproof "glass box" placed around it and fans will spend nine innings trying to find a way out.

Am I being stupid for raising an eyebrow? Or is this something totally made up?

BPD seems to have scored a "scoop" on Mike Veeck's divestment from affiliated ball. He'll retain his ownership portion (through the GG) the Saints & Canaries, but is divesting out of the Miracle (where he returned to baseball) and the RiverDogs --where he'll remain president but no longer part owner.

They say they have good inside sources on this. Given that Mike was in town for the past two weeks you might think it was straight from the man himself....

Some not so good news from San Francisco. Former Saint Eliezer Alfonzo tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance. Alfonzo was suspended 50 games and is this year's first MLB player penalized this season. Eliezer is on the 40-man roster, and playing with AAA Fresno. Here's the entire story:

The Saints just announced that the (new) PA announcer for 2008 will be Mr. Statman himself: Joe Wiener. I know I'll miss Cody. I hope his departure is the result of good news in his career (too many conflicts in a busy acting schedule).

Joe's transition to (permanent) PA guy is about the only major change:

I have noticed that the Saints have added some new blood to the roster. They look like a pretty solid squad. Any thoughts about the new guys? I don't know much about the new guys...I know about all of last year's team. Who do you think will make a big impact to drive the Saints to another final series and win it? Coming up short last year hurt, hopefully this team will take it all. Any thoughts?
