Congrats to all the 'Dogs players, management, and fans. Had a nice time at the championship ceremony tonight. I think Marty is interested in sticking around for a long time. The feeling I got from management is that they want to keep as many guys on the roster as possible and repeat. I think this will go a long way at getting the butts in the seats again. I was there from day 1, and will be there for many more!

Jim was really on his game. I liked how he was getting 1st strikes up on the batters and keeping them behind for the whole at bat. It is a lot easier to mess with the batters when you have an 0-2 or 1-2 count vs when you have a 2-0 or 3-0 count. He also did a nice job of damage control when he had the runners on base and got out with just one run. Defense was good with two inning ending double plays in a row coming down the stretch.
I'm still a little concerned about the cold...

With the big win over SF Sunday afternoon and the Wingnuts loss, the 'Dogs add another division title to the resume. I was worried, but the guys stuck together and pulled it out. On to the playoffs Tuesday and Wednesday at Haymarket. Lets hope the bats get going at home...they were cold the last homestand.

WOW!!!!!!!! What a game on Sat night. Not only because we won, but the way we did it. We did not give up at all. They played hard the whole game. Not scoring in the 2 or 3 previous innings and still playing hard. And McGill sliding hard into second........what a play to allow Alexander to make it to first......KUDOS to ALL the Dogs. Had a great time at Haymarket Park watching the dogs take care of the Saints again. The difference? Defense! Lincoln played as well of a defensive game tonight that I've seen from the home team in a long time. The Saints? Two errors led to the loss. Gardner seemed to have an edge to him tonight...not sure how to describe it. I've rarely seen him so locked in and intense. Dogs need to take care of business in front of the home crowd the rest of the weekend and put this second...

Way to go Dogs! A road weekend sweep of the Saints in mid-August. This team is coming together and I would hate to be the Wingnuts getting ready to play Lincoln in the playoffs. Wow, what's going on with our team? Seven in a row- not a good situation! Looks like Marty is starting to change up some things with the pitching staff. Is that all we need to get moving? At first, I thought the weak spot was with our middle relievers, not sure that is all that needs fixed though. Admittedly, we've had a couple of injury issues. (Richardson, McGill, Maloney, Cory and Campbell) Would be nice to see if Forrest could help us out some- he seemed to be doing pretty...

Tuned in the radio coming home from a Crete softball tournament and had to do a double take. Pichi Balet signed and playing tonight against the 'Nuts. Sounds like Davis had a couple of bad innings. That seems to be the M.O. of this pitching staff and defense...give up the big inning or two and don't recover. The 'Dogs just cant put together back to back good games this season. Tough to make up ground in that fashion.
