Game attendance was listed as 5,445, which is a sellout. The berm areas were not used, probably because the sod was only put in a couple weeks ago and needs to get roots down. The crowd didn't really get behind the Hogs till about halfway thru the game. I think it was the deer in the headlights look they had checking out this great (but not without its' flaws, more later on that) new facility.

AirHogs win there first game in franchise history with a thrilling 2-1 win over the Sports in Shreveport in game one of a doubleheader. After near 14 inches of rain and the first two games cancelled due to rain we finally get our first win. I took some photos of the game hope you enjoy. Will be there Opening Night in GP will have tons of photos of the game and the new QuicTrip Park!

I'm glad we saw the 'Hogs now. Though we swept them --including some heartbreaking loses in yesterday's doubleheader-- I'm sure they'll retool and be a lot stronger later in the season.

It's sounds like that started already with what I believe I heard was cutting Demetrius ("Meatball") Heath. It may have been an injury or something (I can't find any transaction related to him on the league or team site).

AirHogs have named there new stadium today. Its Quick Trip Park at Grand Prairie! They signed a 10 year naming rights to the stadium today. Just got back from the stadium and visiting Mr. Burke! The roof is now complete. Will start installing seats early next week. He said every things a go the stadium is on schedule. At least it appears the Airhogs have a plan, advertising wise to introduce the product. I notice they make a point to say the Airhogs will be located at Lone Star Park. As you can also see, their ballpark is coming along very nicely.

Derrick Nicholson from Joliet. His stats from last season sure make this guy sound like he is one solid first baseman. I'm sure the Joliet fans can enlighten further.
Edwin Maldonado is another nice pickup. I believe he was a CBL all star with Coastal Bend four or five years ago and was productive in Laredo last season.

Open the season at St.Paul.
Home opener May 16 vs. Wichita
Play El Paso 21 times. 14 of those are home games, only 7 away.
As mentioned in another post, only 6 home games out of 18 played vs. the crosstown rival Fort Worth...
