A Sioux Falls Sports Museum

This is an idea that I have been thinking about and posting on a couple of other sites that have a Sioux Falls Connection. I see that cities like Tacoma, WA have a sports museum dedicated to their city's sports history, and I don't see why Sioux Falls couldn't sucessfully do the same. You could have things like:

*The Broom Victor Page Chased an Opponent with from the "Christmas Day Massacre" on December 25, 1997
*A Game Worn Jersey from when Darryl...

OK... can someone tell me about the IPBF (Independent Professional Baseball Federation)?

The NoL site has the logo above on it. So does the FL site. Google barely returns anything on it (actually only two stories, one for each league). Is this a FL-NoL thing, or can any indy league join?

well the peoria chiefs and kane county courgars are going to play a game
7-29 this year at wrigley at night......if they draw over 30k it counts as a
cubs night game.......I picked up my tickets today!

Max Scherzer Still Hot In Big Leagues

It was super to see Max do well in his D-Back debut last night. As a die-hard Canary fan, Max was one of a very few opposition players that was just so good that you had to root for him. I realize his route to and from the Association was a little different than most. Still, it looks like the AA will have a very noticable presence in the Major Leagues for a good many years to come.

Community ownership of franchises

In Owatonna, they are trying to create an ownership group for their Junior A hockey team consisting of people investing to buy shares of the team. My question to all would be, has this method of ownership (much like the Green Bay Packers) ever been attempted in baseball? I could never imagine it tried in affiliated ball but possibly in indy ball. Thoughts?

With the recent acquisition of Fairgrounds Field and a move into Texarkana, it seems that they are at least learning from their past season.

As noted before the folks in Texarkana seem to actually want them there, as mentioned in this blog and mentioned in another thread the city is putting some money into the stadium to bring up to a more professional level.

With the upcoming NoL/AA challenge this exhibition season and the continued talked of interleague play, I was thinking it would be a novel idea for a Canada Cup of baseball in a similar format. Okay, if I understand the way the contracts go (for independent leagues, at least) players are signed for two years and after the second year they are a free agent and can choose to sign for another two years with their same team, a different team or just retire. What happens if a player wants to retire between years one and two? Do they just ask for and receive a release or is it more involved than that?
