BPD's current lead story is all about Normal going with a Mike Veeck-led proposal for an FL club. There were three groups vying for the prize two from/for the FL and one from the NoL "which included four current team owners."

This is a Veeck, not GG, activity: with only Tom Whaley (also of the GG) getting involved....

Didn't get a chance to make it to Tuesday's game and was wondering what the crowd reaction was to Josh Patton playing his first game back in Haymarket in a different uniform. Looks like he had a good night 2-4 with a home run. Hope to be there on Wednesday to catch the game and wish Josh a happy birthday. This is a big series for the 'Dogs to get ahead of SF in the standings. They can then keep climbing the standings ladder with a good series against 2nd place Witchita this...

I am suggesting to you that you look into wether Simmy was heavily fined.

If he was I would hope some of your Fan Club look into putting on a Social to raise money to help Doug out.

I think Doug said something that needed to be said and he was speaking for all of us. If your team owners won't allow it I would suggest organizing a large goup and take a collection outside of the Park during your first home stand and give it to Doug

Our Sports Central had an article on this weekend's promotions. I'm a little confused on something.

On Saturday, May 24 it's "A Moment of Noise" - A Tribute to Marcel Marceau. During the night, each seat will have a soundproof "glass box" placed around it and fans will spend nine innings trying to find a way out.

Am I being stupid for raising an eyebrow? Or is this something totally made up?

Schade has a broken right thumb after being hit with a pitch on Saturday night. He has been put on the Inactive List and will be out for at least 4 weeks. Thankfully we have enough multi-position players this year and he will be able to take the time off to heal properly.

I've found out that the Canaries are not doing a magnet schedule this season. I've got magnet schedules from every season since the NoL started up again in '93, and they've decided not to do one this season!

Is this a league-wide thing (or a Goldklang Group thing), or do the rest of you all get 2008 magnet schedules?

I'm actually considering scanning in the poster...

A Sioux Falls Sports Museum

This is an idea that I have been thinking about and posting on a couple of other sites that have a Sioux Falls Connection. I see that cities like Tacoma, WA have a sports museum dedicated to their city's sports history, and I don't see why Sioux Falls couldn't sucessfully do the same. You could have things like:

*The Broom Victor Page Chased an Opponent with from the "Christmas Day Massacre" on December 25, 1997
*A Game Worn Jersey from when Darryl...

After the RailCats right fielder made a complete fool of himself in the first inning, the game settled down and was within an extra-base hit of turning a disaster into a comeback. The Hammers dodged a bullet Saturday night.

If the RailCats can convert some rallies to runs, they might do all right.

The Home Opener

It was a great night last night at the ballpark - the weather was perfect, no wind, a good crowd (4003), and some new between inning promotions that seemed a bit more interesting than some in the past. The Dogs looked very good and I see a lot of potential with this team. Yount hit it out of the park in his first official plate appearance as a Saltdog at home. Tinius looks solid defensively at third, and Ryan Trytten looked awesome on the mound.
